THORKISEN'S COMPANION TO GRINDILL'S TOME OF FIRE AND ACIDS
A heavy
book, Thigru Thorkisen's Companion to Grindill's Tome of Fires and Acids
expands on the research of Grindill the Archmage Sovereign. It is
about 16 inches in height, 12 inches wide, and about 6 inches thick.
The tome is bound in baby red dragon hide inlaid with mithral
plates. The book is secured by a lock of exceptional quality (DC
25). The pages are vellum and are sewn together and secured to a
fine, supple leather spine backing. It has a +2 save versus Fire,
Lightning, Acid, and Disintegration.
On the first page, Thigru
describes the Oriental spells of fire and begins his expansion of
Grindill's initial research. Owning this volume alone gives a
researcher a +5% on his or her chance to research a fire or acid
spell. Owning this volume and Grindill's Tome of Fires and Acids
gives the researcher a +25% on his or her success roll.
Within the
book, the following Oriental spells may be found:
Fiery Eyes, Pyrotechnics,
Animate Fire, Fire Shuriken, Fire Rain, Fire Wings, Melt Metal, Fire
Enchantment, Fire Breath, Internal Fire.
Also, the following Occidental Spells can be
found: Flame Shroud, Scorch
(cantrip), Infravision
Further, details on the creation of a
Sword of
Flame is found here, as
well as the method to create a Potion of Fire Breath. One can also find, at the end of the
Companion, details on the summoning of a Fire Elemental and/or an
Efreeti.
