Selected passages from The Nan Curinir....

"And Grindill will rise to power and he is the One.

Grindill shall be one of four

And these four shall be heroes

And these four shall be led by a Paladin

And these four shall be ministered by Cleric of Lightning

And these four shall be helped by a Magic-User

And these four shall be united by Grindill

If these four become one, then the Paladin will become the greatest of heroes

and shall wield the mighty Palex Amir

If these four become one, then the Cleric shall become the wisest of heroes

and shall wield the power of his god in twin hammers.

If these four become one, then the Mage will become the saviour of heroes

and shall wield the power of the Source of Magic

If these four become one, then Grindill will become the most powerful of heroes

and shall wield the power of the Old Ones."

"But Grindill must guard against corruption or he will become as Evil and Uncaring as the Old Ones.  He must not read Angustian works lest his Narbonean blood stir."

"Before the Light dies, he shall bring to the world three.  The Eldest of the Three shall bear Darkness and Light-Reborn.  The two brothers shall be strong with magic, but should be seperated lest the elder brother learn magic.  If Darkness learns magic he shall gain the powers of the planes and be an instrument of Chaos, then of Evil.  Light-Reborn should be taught magic and then he shall become a powerful force for Law and will re-establish Light's legacy.

It is unclear who the teacher of Light-Reborn shall be.  One path shows Darkness teaching, the other gives us the Grey Robes.  Darkness shall teach greed, abuse of power, hatred of the Established Order.  The Grey Robes will teach him Law and its applications.  Greater strength shall come to Light-Reborn if taught by Darkness, but greater Evil shall strike the world if Darkness should learn enough to teach.

Light-Reborn shall reach Ultimate Status if Fire and War meet in friendship and raise Light-Reborn to their status.

If Darkness learns, he shall lose his soul to magic and the world will shiver in the cold of his wake.

Light-Reborn must beware the Refractor of Light.  It can magnify him or disperse him.

Love can redeem Darkness.  Hate can destroy Light-Reborn.

If Darkness learns, he will not find love, for he will be the Destroyer.

It shall be said here that the world must either truly destroy or truly save Darkness or the world will suffer for its incompetance.  Light-Reborn will have the power to do either, unless Hate rules his actions.

Light-Reborn must willingly partake of the Waters of Darkness, or he shall be overcome by Darkness and join him in eternal torment and become the Light Now Dead.

Even the One shall not be able to stop the combined might of Darkness and Light Now Dead.  Their power will be bridged, and amplified, by a Great Book of Power.  The Legacy of Light will be extinguished."
