Excerpt from Warnings and Portents by Roneg, Lord of the Tower

"The first of the Dragons will be an escaped captive of the elves.  Several of Yam ibn Saud's generals will become dragons.  True dragons will die out.  This will happen shortly after the Defeat of the Thing in the Tower by the Other, or, as some say, Another.  Some parts of the future are very vague to me, but I see the Tower becoming a Thing of Evil.  After this, the Tower must be destroyed by the One or the world will surely die.  I'm not sure how this happens or even when or in what future age, but I feel quite certain it will.  I have no proof, but the Other, I am certain, will promote this change.  The Other is a blood relative of the One.  Both are certainly going to be power-mad and both hold the power of the Angustians untainted within their essences."

"Grindill's complete mastery of magic and the Tower's inability to surprise the demi-god was the two most contributing factors that lead to the destruction of the Tower.  Grindill and the Four Old Ones he resurrected overran Inzeladun, destroying the Emperor and devestating all of Inzeladun.  The forests of Nyandar are gone.  The Lamapachan plains are gone.  The beautiful lands of Indor are gone.  All of it is gone.  Everything is desert.  The Dragon Kings rule the lands.  Magic is forbidden except for the few chosen by Grindill.  Most of mankind live as slaves.  The world is dead."    (Chapter 10, detailing the end of the Seventh Year of the Eighth Age)

"The One will be seriously weakened if the Source of Magic, The Tower, was to leave Inzeladun between the Fourth and Seventh years of the Eighth Age.  The Tower will seek to learn Chaos and Wildness and will learn to surprise the One, but this is unlikely to happen.  Only the Fiends and the Archons and the Dieties above them have the power to move the Tower and if they gained the Source, The Tower would become Evil."

"Tomodachi, reacting to a trap from Pazuzu but believing he acted in the Tower's best interests, met his Fate in the Abyss, where he was destroyed." (Page 113)

"Pazuzu took the Tower and defeated Grindill, but was severely drained in doing so.  It was a simple matter for the Twilight Gathering to destroy that foul demon and assume control of the Tower.  Tomodachi's sacrifice lead directly to our being able to attain our goal of destroying all the Undead.  I hereby posthumously decree that Tomodachi be considered one of the Twilight."
