The Place: Indor
Notes on Indor: Indor is the land of the Vikings. Traditionally protected by the Legion of Three Hundred, Indor is the home of Grindill and Adilbrand Noblesword.
The
Guardians regrouped in Indor. They
encountered a group of men listening to one of the priests of Grindill. The priest had announced that the Legion of
Three Hundred had betrayed Indor and was now an enemy. The priest stirred the men up and promised
to corral the errant knights in a box canyon where they could be
slaughtered. The Guardians decided that
if these ‘three hundred’ had defected, they might just be worth looking up.
The
Guardians traveled by boat for a day, then went overland and, in the night,
found the patrols of the Three Hundred.
The knights agreed to take the Guardians to their camp. The camp contained about a thousand
people. In addition to the Three
Hundred knights themselves, the camp contained retainers, squires, and
servants. In the camp, the Guardians
met the Captain of the Three Hundred, Aethelric. Aethelric relates that Grindill had ordered him to surrender the
Axe of Adilbrand. Sir Aethelric
refused. Grindill’s priests attacked,
and the Three Hundred escaped. The
Guardians discovered that Aethelric’s maps had been magically altered so that
he was leading the troops into a trap - a box canyon.
For
this aid, Aethelric decides to make the Guardians honorary knights, outfitting
them in armor and horses. He agrees to
help the Guardians attack the city Catemar.
Sir Aethelric still wields the Axe of Adilbrand.
Dovinyae
shapechanged into a bird and flew to Catemar to scout out the situation there.
All characters were awarded 12,000 exp.
Current Events : Drychtnoth battled and defeated more and more Nyandarians. Wars in Lamapacher raged from both ends. Yam ibn Saud fought in the south and Drychtnoth fought in the north. The Lamapachans cried out for a savior, but, to date, none have answered that cry.
Notes on Aethelric: A 15th level Cavalier, Aethelric is noted for his chivalry and bravery. He fights with the Axe of Adilbrand, which he was given at Adilbrand’s death six years ago. He was Adilbrand’s second in command for five years prior to that. He has always been loyal to the kings of Indor and to the Order of the Three Hundred. He, like the Three Hundred, dresses in black field plate armor and wears the coat of arms common to that group.
Notes on the Axe of Adilbrand: The Axe is a +3 Vorpal Double-Edged Battle Axe. It has been in the possession of Adilbrand Noblesword since the Fourth Age, over 2000 years ago. It recently passed into the hands of Aethelric.
Notes on Adilbrand Noblesword: Adilbrand Noblesword was a good aligned cavalier. He founded the Legion of Three Hundred and began the breeding program which has produced the fine Indorian Warhorse. Adilbrand was born in the Fourth Age. He led most of the assaults on Andor, the Traitor of the Confederation. Adilbrand was placed in suspended animation for nearly 2000 years by Killren the Arch-Mage, Lord of the Tower at the end of the Fourth Age. He was reawakened at the end of the Fifth Age. He was the Duke of Kalen, one of the four duchies of Indor. He died attacking Indor after he was exiled by King Gorack. His Axe was passed on to Aethelric.
Notes on The Legion of Three Hundred: The Legion of Three Hundred is the oldest existing order of knighthood in existence. Founded by Adilbrand Noblesword 2000 years ago, the Legion has survived to this day. They dress in black plate armor and ride black Indorian Warhorses, which are also barded in black. Their insignia is a red double-bladed axe on a black field. They follow whoever wields the Axe of Adilbrand. The knights of this order are exceptionally chivalric and are all good aligned. It is an Indorian Order and they allow only Indorians to become one of the Three Hundred, but they do allow other nationalities who wish to join to become Honoraries. The Three Hundred are maintained at that number, but the Honoraries have occasionally swelled to over a thousand members. There are currently 212 Honoraries scattered throughout Inzeladun.
