She saves a mystical unicorn in Argos that was threatened by the sorcerer Andar of Bezfarda.  The beast later returns the favor, and, in almost human fashion, parts company almost sadly.  She arrived in the canal city of Venzia and found herself the intended bride of a toad demon.  Dying, it turned back into its real self - a prince - happy in its last moment to have been freed from an evil spell.  Riding into the uplands of Argos, Sonja enters the deadly Games of Ghita and bested the merciless Sortilej, tyrant of the city of Athos.   She went next, accompanied by the rogue Mikal, to Bor-Ti-Ki, the City of the Bells, where she helped a grotesque race of beings living in the depths of Dark Lake.  She acquired a new mission and a mystic ring from on of them.

Mikal was captured and Sonja then rescued him.  Mikal turned out to be the rightful heir of the throne of Athos.  Sonja then came upon a nameless city in Argos where she hoped to obtain some badly needed rest.  But the city was an illusion whereby the Lord of Hell planed to snatch the warrior-woman's soul.  Counseled by a goat-being named Djali, she outwitted the Lord of Hell.
